While square-based afghans are very popular, they sometimes lack for texture. The Flower Square afghan has 3D flower centers in the squares that give it a rich surface, that is a joy to both sight and touch. The pattern is a little more ambitious than the typical granny square, but the instructions are detailed enough that anyone can attempt this.
