I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

Here is another simply amazing pot holder idea. The ribbed ridges separate your fingers or surfaces from hot pots or pans and give the potholder an interesting texture, particularly when combined with the two-tone color scheme. Your choise of a wavy or straight edge also gives this project a lot of flexibility. Not only utilitarian, this project is a great bit of decor for your kitchen or serving cabinet. A link to the free pattern of the shawl is at the end of the post.

  2. I am using this stitch on fingerless mittens, and I enjoy the texture created, I will definitely be making some of these dishcloths, I have variated cotton and solid colours, so could have an interesting look at the end using in the mitred construction with the colour change in variegated yarn..
