Oliver the Bear Free Crochet Pattern
Oliver the Bear is a chilly-weather-ready polar teddy bear with a wonderful scarf and an adorable tummy. This bear has an elongated shape, perfect for fitting down the side of a backpack or in a deeper pocket. The pattern itself is not too difficult, so that it won’t tax your crocheting skills too much if you have more than one kid in need of a portable teddy. Of course, you can also make this teddy as a present for a loved one, such as a get well gift or simply for yourself as well.

Lying Bear Free Crochet Pattern
Does a bear lie down in the woods? Why yes, and in your home as well. This cute little lazybones looks like he just ate a whole barrel of “hunny” and now needs to rest, just a little bit, until he can move again. This bear is an easy amigurumi pattern with a pear-shaped main body and stitched on limbs and accessories. It’s a great little project for using up yarn ends that seem to accumulate all the time. Like the other patterns here, this shape too lends itself well to travel. Links to free patterns are under the photos.

Toy Bear Free Crochet Pattern
Bears come in many shapes, colors and styles. Since we are exploring uncommonly shaped teddies today, how about a carebear-inspired ami stuffie? You can make them and then love them and hug them and squeeze them and call them George 😉 As you can see, this narrow, elongated shape is also great in terms of portability. It’s particularly good if you have a bunch of them, and a small ball basket or container to carry them in.
