I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

Sunflowers are broad and flat, making them perfect potholders.

While the generalized sunflower, dark center surrounded by yellow-ish petals, is a simple and plain design, here we’ll show you how varied they can be. Moreover, since the potholder is an inherently useful product, the splash of color enlivening your kitchen will also be a functional addition as well. Additionally, a wonderful crocheted sunflower potholder will make a great and well appreciated gift. Of course, they will also be fun to make. Consequently, they’ll give you many hours of enjoyment.

Sunflower Potholder

Although this pattern makes a wonderful, useful potholder, its real forte is its beautiful aesthetic. Indeed, coupled with the hanging loop, it makes for a beautiful piece of artwork.

In contrast, this pattern is highly realistic and actually looks like a natural sunflower. Thus, it will be a splash of nature, for example on some plain, light tiles.

    2. Was that comment necessary? You could have kept that to yourself. Why even look at this page it mentions Sunflowers. I understand everyone doesn’t love Sunflowers. I just don’t understand your reason on posting your comment.

  2. So….why did you comment? if you don’t like something that you know other people like and presented with pride …be polite , just say nothing.

    1. I completely agree with you Rei.

  3. My comment is for Julie. I’m glad other people agree with me.
