I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

It’s definitely headband weather out there.

And, since we all have ears and foreheads that need to keep warm, here are some fancy headband free crochet patterns. These are beautiful patterns that make mundane items like headbands, seem fancy and amazing. After all, they are all whimsical and personalized and go beyond mere simple and double crochet. However, thet are still easy and fun, and will be a joy to make.

The double shell headband uses shell stitches to give it a wavy and ’20s air. Indeed, isn’t it soooooo Great Gatsby?

Coffee Bean Earwarmer

The Coffee Bean Earwarmer in particular is an attractive accessory and a fun project to make. Tin addition to its coffee-and-cream color gradient it has a jolly, jaunty button to give it some pep. This free crochet pattern can be used as both – a headband and earwarmer.
