Tired of ho-hum earwarmers? Twist things up!

While functional, earwarmer tend to be a bit drab and uninteresting. After all, how exciting can a simple band that goes around the head be? Well, here are some ideas to enliven these useful pieces of headwear. Thus, you can make a fashion statement or have some whimsical fun, all the while they are keeping the cold away from your ears and forehead. Best of all, none of these will overly strain your crocheting skills or yarn budget.

Simple Twisted Earwarmer

The simple twisted earwarmer is a great intro to these projects. It incorporates a quick bowtie twist, that gives it an indisputably interesting look without making the pattern more difficult.

Katuna Earwarmer

This next wonderful crocheted ear warmer is a fun fashion accessory that will look great, better than many beanie patterns. Moreover, it’s an easy pattern that will be equally at home on the ski slope and the apres ski. Better still, it’ll be quite all right for around town as well 😉

Everly Head Wrap

The everly head wrap is a little different in that instead of a twist it has a “pinch” of denser, untextured stitches. It’s ribbed texture gives it a great springiness which consequently conforms well to your head. Additionally, it gives it a pleasing, variegated appearance.
