I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

What’s great about crocheting is that you can make sooo many useful things for around the home.

Here are some dishcloth crochet pattern ideas that will enable you to have useful items around the kitchen (we all use them, right?). However, because they are beautiful, hand-made articles, they will also be highly decorative and attractive. More so, since they are of a quality that would surely stand on its own as a gift. In fact, I think a set of these done in beautiful colors would be just the thing for a housewarming. Better still, as part of a care package for a student going off to university.

JustRight and BigTime Dishcloths

Here is a beautiful and simple dishcloth that’s available in two sizes (8.5 and 10 inch) with a well-hemmed edge to keep it from fraying. It may look fancy, but in fact it’s quite easy and quick to make, so that you can have a set of these in a jiffy.

Cable Stitch Crochet Dishcloths

Here is a crochet dishcloth that’s a little more fancy. It uses the cable stitch and alternating textured bans that can be furthermore enhanced with the use of colors. You can make more designer-style dish accessories using this technique.
