In this article:

Cats are a perennial favorite theme for crochet patterns. They can be cute, funny, regal, distinguished, or just plain beautiful. Here are some funny cat patterns that will warm your heart, be a joy to make and very, very enjoyable as toys for kids, or as zany decorations for around the house or office. They would make great presents.
Fat Cat Stuffies Free Crochet Pattern
The Fat Cat stuffie is one chunky kitty cat. This is a very easy pattern that makes a squeezable, lovable stuffie that’s highly customizable and very, very adorable. The cartoon-like nature of this patten means that you are not limited by any realism, so you can use any colors or mods you like, which is great for driving down your stash of yarn ends, so that you will have an excuse to get more. It’s a pattern for the cat lovin’ recipient and the crocheter alike.

Cats Free Crochet Pattern

These ami cats are like the street-wise alley toms from your favourite cartoon. This is also a quick and easy pattern that can be used to make many stuffies for a whole menagerie of kids, or a large collection for that special someone who likes cats. That special someone can also be you, of course 😉 This pattern is so cute, but it is not in English, so when visiting its site, please turn on google translator.

Hi Katelyn. It depends on the yarn. The recommended gauge is 18 sc and 20 rows = 4″ [10 cm]. If you take the Bernat Velvet yarn, you will get a gauge required with a 5 mm (US H-8) crochet hook.
