I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

Useful and beautiful.

So, while summer isn’t here yet, indeed, it’s not even warm yet, there’s no reason not to start prepping. Of course, there will be time aplenty for the big summer projects: the dresses, the cardis, and the swimsuits. However, why not get a head start on the accessories. And, among those, here are some summer bag ideas for your things-toting, necessity-carrying pleasure. While, of course, no one yet knows what they will wear in the summer, nothing stops us from making a great variety of bags to work with and accessorize with anything.

Bag in Bag

First, here is a beautiful summer bag with a fruit or vegetable theme. This fun carryall is perfect for your fun beach outfit, or for your daughter.

Rainbow Sunburst Tote Bag

Next, this summer bag is a tote that uses 27 Sunburst Granny squares. Moreover, the rainbow gradient yarn changes the color instead of switching yarns. The straps look like a very long granny square, and look very cute tied into a bow.

Finally, this summer bag is a classic, rustic hippy-trippy design that uses modern color choices. Overall, this one is a definite eye pleaser and carryall.
