Design Highlights:

  • Flirty ruffle hem for a feminine touch
  • Adjustable halter straps for a perfect fit
  • Lightweight and breathable – ideal for warm weather
  • Can be made in multiple sizes (XS-L, with guidelines for larger sizes)

Side Panels
You’ll crochet two side panels with simple rows of half double crochet (hdc). Start with a foundation chain (adjust the length for your size) and work back and forth until you reach the desired length. Then, create gentle decreases to shape the sides.

Tip: Want a longer ruffle? Simply add extra rows before starting the decrease rows!

Halter Strap
Once the side panels are complete, you’ll crochet a long chain (60 chains for size M) and secure it with slip stitches. This forms the stylish halter neckline.

Torso Strap
Make two long chain straps to weave through the top, creating an adjustable fit around your waist and underbust. This detail is not only practical but adds an extra touch of charm.

Assembly & Finishing Touches
Join the side panels, weave in ends, and adjust the straps to your desired fit. Block your crochet top lightly to smooth out the stitches and drape.

Style Tips
Pair your Luna Ruffle Top with high-waisted jeans or a flowing skirt for a balanced look. This crochet top is also perfect layered over a bikini or bralette for a day at the beach!

About the Author

Hi! I’m Jade Ann Gibbs, owner & creator of Ann’s Closet. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, I spend most of my time creating original crochet garments, patterns and tutorials to inspire other crocheters to explore the world of crocheting clothing. As a child, I spent tons of time with my grandmother Ann Gibbs, learning how to crochet & knit. When she passed in 2020, I wanted to do something to memorialize her. That inspired me to create Anns Closet. I am immensely grateful to have learned such an amazing skill from such an amazing woman & I am honored to be able to spend my time learning more and more about this craft each day.
