Supplies You’ll Need to Crochet Your Fish

The materials list for this fish keychain amigurumi project is super short. Before you start, prepare sport weight yarn (330m/100g) in two colors (and black for the eyes), a 2.5 mm hook, a needle, and scissors. To stuff your plushie, you can use either fiberfill or yarn scraps.

The designer used YarnArt Jeans, but you can go for any other yarn you want as long as it has the same weight.

How the Fish Keychain Is Made

This tiny crochet fish amigurumi is worked in continuous rounds, which means there is no chain or join at the end of a round. You simply continue working next rounds, so stitch markers will definitely be helpful for this project.

The tail and fins are made separately and then sewn to the body. Once you have your amigurumi assembled, you need to insert the key ring through one of the eyelets at the top, and your keychain is ready to go!

Make It Your Own – Color & Style Variations

This lovely little fish features a beautifully detailed design that leaves a lot of space for personalization. In fact, there are countless ways to combine the colors, making each piece look unique.

Think about using bright rainbow shades for a tropical fish or try pastels for a soft version. You can also play around with its design by adding stripes, dots, or even sequins. With so many creative options, I’m sure you won’t stop at making just one fish buddy!
