Big Octopus Free Crochet Patterns

Octavia the Octopus Free Crochet Pattern

Octopi are also a great theme for crocheting. These unusual and wonderful creatures make for  lovely, huggable and cuddly softies for kids of all ages. What’s really great is that even the youngest of zoologists will have tons of fun exploring all the different shapes , nooks and crannies, as well as the textures and colors of these amazing toys.

Octavia the Octopus Free Crochet Pattern

How many arms does an octopus have? Well, one would think eight, for sure. That’s why this pattern, originally designed by Lily/Sugar’n Cream was modified by Nancy Smyth.  Thanks to that mistake feature, you now have a well written pattern for this almost excessively cute octopus. Octavia will be a perfect toy for the youngest ones, even for preemies. A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.

Octopus Squish Pillow Free Crochet Pattern

Here is another octopus pattern, this time for a squish pillow, but it’s also one that can easily be used as a softie for kids to play with. This is an easy pattern that uses a sof yarn and stuffing to achieve a level of “squish” not attainable by more finely stitched projects. It’s ideal! For safety, please consider making crocheted eyes if it’s destined for use by the youngest of us.
