Every crocheter knows that at the core of any beautiful design is a truly beautiful stitch. There are so many Marvelous Crochet Stitches available online, that you won’t have enough time to try them all. It’s good to have them in your library, though. When it comes to creating your own crochet design – whether it’s a blanket, bag, or anything else – the first thing you need to decide on is the kind of stitch you want to use.

Some of them are very decorative and structural, they create volume, 3D elements, or fun knotty textures. Others are more subtle and delicate, but you can make them more fun by introducing colors. Their final look depends on much more than just colors because the gauge makes a big difference as well. Try different options before deciding on one combination for the best results.

Easy Braided Crochet Stitch Free Pattern

It’s always a good idea to increase your stitch quiver. Here is an interesting proposition of a braided stitch that produces a firm, but still lacy material that would be excellent for all blanket or throw-type projects. It’s an easy and fairly yarn-efficient stitch that will serve you well in addition to the others you commonly use. It also produces items that have a fair bit of stretch due to the twisted, braided strands, so it will also be good for form-fitting clothing, like a hat.
