Heart shapes can be incorporated into any crochet item or shape. Don’t believe me? See below!
I hope you have seen another one of my posts, entitled Heart Granny Square Free Crochet Patterns. If not, have a look. Here, is a similar idea, but instead of a square, but instead we have placed a heart motif in the square. This is a lovely idea to show how much you care for someone, should you present this as a gift. However, these are so beautiful, you may want to retain them for yourself. I know, I would! Therefore, without much ado, here are some hearts in squares for your enjoyment.
Sweetheart Square
The Sweetheart Square is a lovely, lacy project with a well defined border which consequently offsets it nicely from the interior of the square, but also from the adjoining squares, if you use this as a building block.

Hope Square Blanket
The hope square is an easy crocheted square that can be used to make a blanket of any size (building blocks are great!). When put together it makes a blanket that gives the illusion of a whole surface of moving hearts. It truly is a wonderful design. Each square divides into four panels giving them a pleasant and attractive symmetry. Best of all, this pattern uses only simple stitches, enabling you to make a blanket for that someone special in no time at all.

Never Ending Love Square
The Never ending love square is a wonderful pattern to add to your arsenal. In keeping with some recent patterns, this is another square with a symmetric central motif done in relief to give the pattern a rich surface and wonderful feel. It’s a great design for a baby blanket or bassinet cover, but will also fit an adult room as well, especially if you play around with the colors. A link to free patterns is included under the photos.

In that vein, take a look at the Tip Toe Tulip, with its smooth surface made bolder with a realistic 3D applique flower. It’s a fun and beautiful way to liven up your blankets, afghans, and pillowcases. A link to free patterns is included under the photos.
