Free Blanket CALs You Don’t Want to Miss in 2020

Here you will find the great CALs for January and the remainder part of 2020.

The Mosaic Sampler CAL was published a while ago and all parts are already available. The My Favorite Things Blanket CAL is starting on January 31 and the Narcissus CAL pattern started on January 7th. The Beachcombing Blanket CAL starts will start on 10th April, 2020 and will run for 12 weeks. D’Histoire Naturelle Scheepjes CAL starts on September 23, 2020.

Mosaic Sampler CAL

The sampler afghan is crocheted using the mosaic technique, with lots of charts and all sorts of extra information in the pattern. The body section of the afghan is 103 cm x 150 cm (40.5 inches x 59 inches) and is made up of seven sections. This is an excellent project to improve your chart reading!

Pandemic CAL Blanket

UPDATE: A free pattern is not longer available.

Never mind preppers. We, crocheters, have been training for a pandemic lockdown all our lives. We know how to stay at home and be productive. To help us do just that, and yet keep together an maintain our sense of community, here is a CAL dedicated to staying active and balanced in these strange times. The CAL starts on may 4th and will be raising spirits and maintaining morale until finished.

My Favorite Things Blanket

The My Favorite Things cal is a blanket that shows the world all of what you find dearest, what you like to do and what best fills your life with joy and meaning. The design includes coffee (yes!) books (wonderful!) and cats (hmmmm…). Best of all, it’s not too terribly difficult, so you should be able to get it going, catch up to your fellow CAListas, and enjoy the sense of a group effort.
This pattern is free only until the end of January when the CAL will start. After that you will need to pay to access them. A link to the free pattern is under the photos.

The narcissus CAL is a beautiful floral crochet pattern that is an ambitious project for the winter. It’s a 7-part CAL starting on January 7th.

The Beachcombing Blanket CAL will start on April 10th, 2020 and will run for 12 weeks.

This blanket, inspired by amazing sea shore colors, has an amazing texture and will be great summer project which will let you immortalize early spring memories.

Daisy Nine Square CAL

This is a large CAL project that started on October 8th and will run through to January 21 of next year. The author plans a weekly release with some breaks in between. This is a great project that experiments with different techniques, uses different color combinations and produces a highly varied surface. Even if you take odds with the color scheme (and the author says you should do your own thing with them at any rate) you can easily adapt it to your tastes and needs. 35-Square Blanket
