Jaycee Butterfly Shawl
Butterflies are one of the favorite themes for crocheted items. We love them for their colors, fancy shapes and their ethereal beauty as they flit from flower to flower, or just regally sit there looking stunning. Below are some patterns inspired by their gorgeous forms and hues.

The Jaycee butterfly shawl is a wonderful project that combines lepidopteran shapes set out in gorgeous, lacy voids and delicate, pastel hues that wonderfully match the shapes and the texture. The gentle color transitions are very reminiscent of those on the common blue butterfly, but so much more colorful and varied. The shawl is made complete with tassels on the corners. While not the easiest project, an ambitious beginner can take this on and really up their crochet game.

Gradient shawls can be made even more fancy. Here is a rainbow project inspired by butterfly wings. It is a great way to show how much you can get out of multiple color transitions in one project.
