What really says spring and summer? Butterflies, of course.

Thus, here is a small collection of butterfly project ideas to really put you into the mind of sunshine, meadows and flowers. After all, there are few animals quite as colorful and visually appealing as butterflies. Indeed, short of some tropical fish and birds, I think that butterflies are the real color and pattern show-offs. Better still, we have them everywhere to view and enjoy. Therefore, I would love to present more butterfly patterns, as there seems to have been a dearth of them recently. Consequently, without further ado, here the lepidopteran patterns to make and enjoy as you are soaking in midsummer sunshine.

C2C Butterfly Blanket

To begin with, let’s start our butterfly project ideas with this unique and huge Monarch Butterfly Blanket. To summarise, it is made using Half Double Crochet Stitches in the Mini C2C technique. Thus, this results in a fine-textured, high definition image of the butterfly.

However, blankets aren’t the only destination for butterflies. In fact, the butterfly can be the whole of the project. Therefore, our next installment of butterfly project ideas is for cute little butterflies in all colors. To summarize, you can make these to be any one of a clip, a key chain, sticker, applique or anything else your heart desires. Moreover, with small changes, you can use the same pattern to make Monarchs, Swallowtails or Blue Morphos. Like Nature, your imagination has no limits!
