I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

Even if you have been crocheting for quite a while now, there is a chance that you still haven’t had the opportunity to try the amazing bead stitch.

It is so simple and yet very original, not as popular as it may seem. These patterns for bead stitch hat and cowls will let you try a new crochet technique and make yourself a cozy little winter accessory. The colors are inspired by mother nature herself!

Bead stitch patterns are quite rare and therefore so precious! This unique technique creates such an awesome texture. It is squishy, it is chunky and warm, simply ideal for chilly weather. The genius author has mixed autumn colors here, but you can go for something else if you want!

Who doesn’t love a slightly slouchy hat with a lot of texture? Although this hat combines a few crochet stitches, it is still quite easy to make. Rounds of bead stitch and half double crochet are combined and finished with post-stitch ribbing and a faux fur pom pom on top. The link to the free pattern is under the photo.
