Chill Time Child’s Cardigan Free Crochet Pattern

Article:
Chill Time Child’s Cardigan Free Crochet Pattern
A peach-colored crocheted cardigan, crafted from a free crochet pattern, is displayed on a hanger on the left; on the right, a smiling child enjoys some chill time wearing the same cozy child's cardigan.

In this article:

This is a great cardigan for the approaching cool days of fall. It’s a thick and drapey sweater with warmer pockets, and comfy sleeves with cuffs. It’s a great project that your daughter will just love and you’ll greatly enjoy making. The pattern calls for crocheting basic shapes, and then joining them together. This is a simple and enjoyable project with a lovely goal at the end. A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.

Hi, I am having trouble understanding on the back piece I am on row 2, towards the end it says
” to last 3 dc. 1 dcbp around next dc. 1 dcfp around next dc. 1 hdc in last dc. ” when I am going front and back posting it makes a double rib design (from the dcfp) so I am trying to understand what the last 3 dc are.. there is also a chain 2 area at the very end, am I counting that as the last “DC”? if so do I do the HDC in the chain or space? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kim

Please skip to the sentence ‘go to the pattern’ followed by its name and click on it. (Optionally it may be “the free crochet pattern is >here<").
