I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

We’re crocheters. We LOVE winter.

Why is this? It’s because of thick, bulky sweaters, those super warm, undeniably cozy crocheted wonders of the clothing world. However, some sweaters need the right inspiration, and I believe here are some that will inspire you to greatness. Moreover, they are simply nice, comfortable and above all beautiful garments that you will enjoy making and wearing on cold and blustery days. Of course, a pleasant Sunday morning in front of the fire with a giant cuppa in your hand will always benefit from such a warm sweater as well.

Thus, seeing as the weather suddenly took a turn for the worse, it’s high time that we start crocheting sweaters. Thus, this shrug is a great example of a project in this category. Because it’s made with thick yarn, the pattern creates a richly textured, dense shrug for keeping your shoulders warm. Therefore, whether it be in your favorite armchair at home, or in front of the fireplace and a glass of something  heartwarming in your hand, the Juno Chunky shrug is ideal. Just warm and cozy sweater as needed.
