I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

This shawl pattern is for a fabulous looking garment that has a an open lacework appearance, and the corresponding fancy texture. What is really wonderful is that it uses only two simple stitches, the shell and chain, which means that it’s beginner-friendly. And yet, the tensioning of the strands is important, so that there is a bit of a challenge in there as well. This is a fabulous project to undertake if you wish to enhance your fall wardrobe. A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.
