I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

The puff stitch is a definite must-have in your quiver of crocheting techniques. It’s great for adding a thick, fluffy texture to a piece, whether as a whole or to certain parts, such as in the Rainbow Puff Hexagon Blanket. This particular pattern is great, because not only do you get to practice combining puff stitches with single and double crochets, but you also use it to make a hexagonal panel blanket, which will be a niche change from the more usual square-based projects.  A link the free pattern is at the end of the post.
