Granny Pouf
A woman with long brown hair sits outdoors next to a purple and white crocheted blanket, wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt.

Add a stylish handmade touch to your living space with this crochet granny pouf cover pattern. It’s an easy way to give your home accessory a makeover. The cover works up with granny stitches, producing a beautiful open-spaced fabric. You can use as many colors as you like, depending on whether you want your pouf to truly stand out or blend in with your decor theme.

How Much Yarn Will You Need?

The Granny Pouf pattern calls for super bulky weight yarn that is worked by holding two strands together at the same time. The sample showcased in the photos was made with Garnstudio DROPS Andes, but feel free to use any other yarn you like.

You will need 300g of pearl gray (4010) and 200g of each of the following colors: off white (0100), heather (4090), old pink (4300), and brown (5610).

How Big Is The Finished Pouf Cover?

The finished cover fits a rectangular pouf that is approx. 38 cm / 15โ€™โ€™ along all sides. You can also adjust the pattern to make a different size. If you want the cover to wrap around your pouf nicely, be sure to work fewer stitches in width and more stitches in length. This will prevent the fabric from being too short after it is stretched along the sides of the pouf.

What Crochet Stitches Are Used In The Pattern?

This project uses a simple granny stitch pattern worked in stripes of colors. First, you will crochet a large square motif that will serve as the top panel, and then continue working double crochet clusters in the round down the sides. Thus, it’s a great project for anyone who has a basic understanding of these techniques.
