If you’re looking for a crochet project that’s both adorable and seasonal, this free bat pattern is just the thing! Made with soft chenille yarn, the finished bat measures around 15 x 15 cm / 5.9 x 5.9″ and is wonderfully squishy, making it ideal not only as a cute Halloween decoration but also as a cuddly plushie for kids. Its simple yet charming shape works up quickly, so you can create a whole colony of bats to hang, display, or gift.

The pattern includes clear step-by-step instructions and photos, making it easy for beginners while still offering fun details for more advanced crocheters. You can customize your bat in many ways—stick with classic black or grey for a traditional Halloween look, or experiment with pastel or bright yarns for a playful twist. These bats are perfect for adding a whimsical touch to your seasonal decoration, for surprising a friend with a handmade gift, or for giving little ones a soft and spooky companion.
