Every woman who is looking for a nice lightweight sweater will appreciate the Day Date Cardigan Crochet Pattern. This project by Jess Coppom features a beautiful openwork texture and a comfortable oversized fit you will love to have on. It comes in a neutral brown and bright red colorway from which you can choose. If you’re not a big fan of these two colors, you can easily swap them for any other shade.

What Yarn and Hook Size Do I Need?

Crochet this crochet cardigan with a 6 mm hook and lightweight category 3 yarn to get a beautiful handmade layering piece to add to your summer and spring ensembles.

The designer used Lion Brand Vanna’s Style (100% acrylic) to create the sample version seen in the photos above. Unfortunately, this yarn is no longer available, so instead, you can go for any other yarn of your choice. Just be sure to choose the same weight and check your gauge before you get started.

A great substitute to consider is Lion Brand’s Touch of Linen Yarn or Lion Brand Jeans.

What Size Can I Make the Day Date Cardigan?

Wondering whether you will be able to find the perfect fit for this cardigan? I’m happy to tell you that this pattern offers instructions for all women’s sizes! The designer also provides a useful sizing chart to help you pick your best size from XS/S to 6X/7X.

Is the Day Date Cardigan Pattern Good for Beginners?

A basic skill is enough to be able to work the Day Date Cardigan. This means every beginner should tackle it without much effort using basic stitches.

The garment consists of two simple hexagons that you need to seam together to create the sleeves, back, and sweater fronts. The body and sleeves of the cardigan are finished with stylish hemline ribbing and two roomy pockets.
