As any fashion photographer knows, it’s the accessory that makes a garment.
Here are some examples of how a simple button will take a simple cowl to a whole new level. Indeed, the following patterns are for simple, though very attractive and warm buttoned cowls. However, the addition of a button gives them a touch of panache and pizzaz that really highlights their looks. Consequently, a fairly simple garment or accessory is made into a wearable work of art with a center piece, the button, that makes it pop and complements the wearer greatly.
Margaret Button Cowl
The Margaret button cowl is a thick, bulky cowl with a lovely triangular button. Overall it’s a wonderful piece of neckwear for the upcoming cold days.

Fiona Button Scarf
And here is another buttoned scarf which allows you on a few styles of wearing. You can use buttons to join scarf ends to create a long ‘infinity’ scarf, or wear it without buttons like a traditional scarf. A quick and easy pattern allows you to make a few scarfs to match all your possible autumn and winter outfits.
