I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

Today we are choosing between two pretty versions of the same crochet pattern. One makes us think of spring, the other is more fall-inspired. Which speaks to you louder? Let us know! This beautiful pattern was created by brilliant designer Laurie Dale in 2016 and has been recreated in myriads of color combinations, among which you will surely find a design of your liking. This pattern uses quite popular techniques to achieve a relatively complex-looking square. This pattern comes in two sizes, 9 and 12-inch, which are excellent for afghans, and centerpieces respectively. The links to free patterns are under the photos.

Deep and warm, these delicious shades make us think of colorful fall leaves and Pumpkin Spice Latte. Burgundy, caramel, and beige look absolutely delightful here, don’t they? The author mixed in a bit of blue to keep things fresh. The final effect of this color play is stunning! The link to the free pattern is under the photo.
