Crocheted rugs are a great way to add warmth and softness to the floor in any room, but particularly in the nursery. They are great, because they occupy a certain spot without blocking up the whole floor. In addition to their functionality, they are also a great visual accent, especially in an otherwise straight-edged and simple modern interior.

Mandala Floor Rug Free Crochet Pattern

The Mandala Floor Rug is inspired by the radial and concentric shapes of mandala wheels. This one combines both radially spaced voids and concentric rings delineating them. It’s a beautiful and relatively easy project that is great for central placement in a nursery, pleasant to stand on and great for protecting the floor under a rocking cradle. Beyond this, they are just lovely to look at.

Purrrfect Crochet Rug Free Pattern

In the flood of baby shawls, vests, and other clothing (all good in their own right) I’s nice to make a project that’s functional and decorative, but not clothing. This play rug will be a favorite play site for baby to explore their world, keep the winter chill off the floor, learn about its texture and generally be a baby. It’s a fun, functional and easy project, which both you and the rug rat will enjoy immensely. A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.
