Sleeveless baby cardigans are a great thing. Not only are they as cute as cute can be, but they are a platform for your imagination to run wild. At the same time, they can also be a classic touch for your child to have that retro/vintage look. Can you just imagine your little bundle of joy in a classic sleeveless cardi in a traditional bassinet pram? Wonderful! Here are some patterns to get you started.

Emmy’s Baby Cardigan is a classically styled baby cardigan with star-inspired chevrons and a simple bear-shaped button closure. Gorgeous… and easy! It’s a great project for getting into crocheting beyond practice stitches.

Here is a slightly more modern, somewhat hippy-trippy set. This is also a beautiful pattern, with lovely loose stitching that will keep baby warm, but not overheating. I like this one a lot.

So, you want to make a baby cardi, but also want to get a bit fancy, eh? No worries, this one has you… and your baby covered. The layered zig-zagging chevrons are a beautiful way of achieving a layered, almost 3D effect, and give you tons of room to play with colors and yarn thicknesses. Enjoy!
