Morgana Square Free Crochet Pattern

The Morgana square is a beautiful traditional square with a solid edge and a lovely floral center surrounded by a radial rosette. The pattern is a classic design augmented by a modern color set, with some earth tones in the background and brilliant reds and purples in the foreground. Overall, this is a great and worthy project that will be a wonderful foundation for a larger item, or a beautiful piece on its lonesome. Drop in the Bucket Square Free Crochet Pattern

The Drop in the Bucket square is a lovely and simple pattern that makes use of chain stitches. In contrast to the Morgana square, it makes use of voids to define the shape of the central, round rosette motif. It too is an excellent block for larger blankets and afghans or center piece for smaller ones. Why not try to combine the two?
