What Makes This Blanket So Special?

Do I Need to Be an Advanced Crocheter?
To complete this blanket pattern, you don’t need to be a crochet veteran, though its design might look intimidating. With clear, detailed instructions, the designer makes sure this project is accessible not only to intermediates but also to those with basic experience who are ready for a new crafting challenge.
Since it’s a CAL project, the pattern is divided into 9 parts that involve either crocheting squares, panels, or working around the entire project.
Necessary Materials
The blanket samples from Helen Shrimpton feature Stylecraft Special Double Knit and Stylecraft Special Aran acrylic yarns. These yarns are easy to work with and result in a soft fabric that will make your finished blanket as cuddly as it can be!
The hook size depends on the yarn that you will decide to use (4 mm for DK yarn and 5.5 mm for medium-weight).
The DragonBird’s project version was made with Red Heart Super Saver in contrasting colors.
Choosing the Perfect Colorway
If you like to work according to a pre-planned colorway provided by the designer, I have great news for you. Here you can choose between not 2, not 3, but 4 equally beautiful color schemes (plus the DragonBird’s vibrant interpretation)! But if you’re confident enough, you are of course encouraged to come up with your own shade combination.
I love the blanket with the darker colors, the one at the top of the page. How many skeins of different colors did you need. I would love to make this.
Thank you,
Michelle
