Flower Shower Blanket
A multicolored crochet blanket with a flower pattern is draped over a wooden stool next to a white plant pot; close-up shows pink, yellow, and orange flower details.

Crochet a gorgeous blanket that looks like the actual field of flowers. Made up of small hexagon pieces with raised blossom centers, it’s captivating to look at and super fun to make. Imagine it spread across the bed in your room or draped over the sofa. No other project will bring as much spring energy and floral charm as this handmade blanket!

Is the Flower Shower Blanket for Intermediate Crocheters?

The Flower Shower Blanket crochet pattern by Kirsten Ballering makes a fun project for intermediates. However, beginners who are familiar with popcorn stitches can give it a try too. The blanket is built from 278 hexagons with puffy flowers that you will work up using the popcorn stitches. The motifs are joined as you go, so there is no need for weaving in at the end.

What Yarn Do I Need for the Flower Shower Blanket?

The designer recommends using Scheepjes Whirl, which is 60% cotton and 40% acrylic yarn. You will need just one cake of this self-striping yarn to create your hexagon blanket. The sample visible in the photos was made using Cotton Candy Man (760) colorway in cheerful pastel shades. For the edging, choose six balls of Scheepjes Cotton 8 in white.

How Big Is the Finished Flower Shower Blanket?

The finished blanket measures 40” x 29.5” (100 x 75 cm) and consists of 278 hexagon motifs. To make it smaller, simply remove the pieces, and to make it bigger, add more hexagons. It’s a simple way to adjust the size of your blanket to your needs.
