The blanket has three large cats in typical feline poses: a curious one peeking in, an alert one sitting upright (maybe his bowl was just filled?) and another just regally lazing around. It’s a blanket with kittycats just being kittycats ;D

The cats afghan is a little different. It’s a beautiful example of a project demonstrating interlocking geometric shapes that happen to be very cat-like. Or is it by the same token that the cats are being very geometric shape-like? It’s hard to tell, and therein is the beautiful mystery of this project.
