Ami Turtle
Crocheted turtle plush with a brown shell and green limbs, shown resting on a wooden surface and being held in a hand, with green plant leaves in the background—perfect beside your favorite Isobel Ear Warmer for cozy charm.

This small turtle amigurumi by Fay Lyth is really cute. It will make a lovely addition to every undersea animal collection. You can also use it as a keychain or a desk buddy. I’m pretty sure kids will love to play with this little toy as well. Actually, I can already imagine making a whole set of these adorable buddies in the most vibrant colors!

Neccessary Set of Supplies for Ami Turtle

To make this little amigurumi turtle, you need a 2.5 mm crochet hook and Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Pistachio Green and Soft Fudge shades. Any other double-knitting yarn in green and brown will work great, too. Apart from that, prepare two 8 mm safety eyes and some polyester fiberfill for stuffing.

How to Crochet This Turtle Amigurumi

This turtle crochet pattern is very simple to complete. If you know basic stitches and have done amigurumi before, it will literally be a breeze for you. You work it in spiral rounds using single crochets. The head and flippers are crocheted in as you work the body, so there is no sewing required.

Final Measurements of the Crochet Turtle

The finished size of your handmade turtle may vary depending on the tension and the materials used. The toy measures roughly 4″ x 4.25″ (10 cm x 11 cm) if made with DK-weight yarn. Amigurumi of this size is easy to attach to keys or a bag or hang as decoration. Would like to make your turtle bigger? Use thicker yarn and a larger hook and see what happens!
