Gnomes are a delightful project to make for autumn and this free crochet pattern gives you not one, but two seasonal versions to enjoy. Each gnome measures about 18 x 9 cm / 7 x 3.5″, making them the perfect size for decorating a table, shelf, or mantelpiece. One gnome takes on a magical Halloween twist with a tall witch hat and festive charm, while the other is styled in warm brown and green tones with leaves on the hat, capturing the cozy, earthy feel of fall.
This pattern is beginner-friendly with step-by-step photos and instructions to guide you, yet detailed enough to keep more advanced crocheters interested. Gnomes like these work beautifully as decorations for Halloween parties, Thanksgiving gatherings, or simply to add a handmade touch to your seasonal home décor. They also make thoughtful gifts that can be cherished year after year. Try playing with yarn colors to create your own twist—classic black and orange for spooky vibes, or soft neutrals for a modern autumn look.
These gnomes are a fun way to bring Halloween into your crochet projects. They work well as decorations around the house, and you can play with different colors and details to give each one its own personality.
