Dress up toys are great, but for the most part they seem to some variation of a doll. Why not think a bit outside of the box, and make a collection of crocheted amigurumi critters that you can dress, accessorize and play with… well, maybe not you, the crocheter, but certainly your kids, grandkids and assorted and sundry other rug rats. Its’ great to increase children’s playtime arsenal and to expand their imagination as you’re doing it. Of course, to use crocheters, this is simply an oppo to get into yet another project. Because why not.

These amigurumi pals are easy toys to work up with simple, stuffed shapes and utterly lovable countenances. They come with patterns for fun and beautiful accessories, and will provide your ankle biters with hours of enjoyment. They can also form the basis of a super attractive diorama, so altogether, this is a great project. Also, due to their size and variety, you can bust the stash of yarn ends, to make room for more yarns you wanted to buy, but couldn’t store.
