Sometimes a relatively small change in a pattern can impact a project so much so that it essentially becomes a whole new design. Using the same basic pattern you end up with a whole new item.
Bear’s Rainbow Blanket with Border
The bordered Bear’s Rainbow blanket is a wonderful project that is a traditional checkerboard square design but with a rainbow-themed layout to the squares. The blanket itself is densely stitched, giving it a lovely drape. For the same reason it’s also very warm and a great way to snuggle up in bed or in front of the TV. Because it’s based on squares, the size is essentially infinitely adjustable, and best of all, it’s easy to make.

Bear’s Rainbow Blanket without Border
In keeping with the theme, check out the borderless Bear’s Rainbow blanket, in which the central checkerboard meet up at the edges and give it an almost patchwork appearance. See what I mean? It’s one pattern, but two very different, but equally beautiful outcomes.
