Creating crochet blanket is always a good idea. There are so many designs to choose from – creativity is the bottomless well! Today I chose for you some designs that feature one of my favourite crochet stitches – Basket Weave Blankets. This clever way of creating fabric imitates weaving. It’s not easy to learn, but once you grasp it, you will definitely fall in love with it. It creates lovely intricate structure, gives the blanket great softness and tactile surface. It’s great way to work with multicoloured or ombre yarns – the effects are stunning! Choose delicate pastels or vibrant raw colours for desired effect. These designs are both for girls and boys, so consider them great as gifts. Links to free patterns can be found under the pictures.
