Foxes, they ain’t just your chicken coop invaders…

It’s been a while since we’ve delved into amigurumi, so here we’re back at it with all the stops out. However, in order to do ami right, you need the right subject. Therefore, we’d like to propose these cute, absolutely adorable ami fox patterns that will show you just how beautiful and fun these critters are. Indeed, they may be wily and they may be the scourge of chicken coop owners the world over. However they are beautiful, cuddly and so much fun to explore with crochet. So, without further ado, here are some amigurumi fox free crochet patterns for your bushy tailed enjoyment.

Rika the Fox

Rika is a fall fox, ready to tackle the worsening weather with her toasty scarf. This is a beautiful project that’s made of simple shapes and does not require much in the way of yarn. Yarn scraps, anyone?! If you make one for a very young ankle biter, please consider using crocheted eyes for safety.

Amigurumi Fox Split Sing

What do you think of this cute little guy? This ami fox may look like he’s knit, but is, in fact, a crocheted toy. It uses the SSC stitch, which runs the hook in between the legs of the next stitch, forming an overlapping pattern that is reminiscent of knitting. Because of the intermeshing, the neighbouring stitches will pull one another to the vertical, rather than like in normal SC, where they lean right or left. Lastly, the beautiful appearance of the fox is topped off with the eyeglasses, giving him a very intelligent and incisive air.
