I’m a craft designer and author of hundreds of articles and reviews about crocheting and other crafts. I search out and present novel approaches to classic patterns and techniques to encourage you to try something new. I’m delighted that so many of you read my posts and that I can contribute to promoting our crochet community. I’m interested in crafts, interior design and love traveling and sitting next to a campfire. I live with my husband and three kids in the Rockies.

The Spill is a shawl that looks like it was poured onto the wearer’s shoulders. It is a colorful, hippy garment that will go well with any nature-inspired garment. It’s worked in rounds and the author suggests using a gradient yarn to give the Spill its characteristic color smooth transitions in each row. This is a pleasant and interesting project that results in a clothing accessory that will be fun to wear and a talking point with your friends. Also, this is an easy pattern to make, so it could be attempted by an ambitious beginner. A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.
