What Stitches Are Used in This Dinosaur Pattern?
Work this pattern in the round using basic stitches like chains and single crochets. It also doesn’t go without a little bit of increasing and decreasing, so be ready for that too.
The pattern allows for two alternate options in which you can work up the frill part. You can either crochet mini picot stitches to create that cool spike-like look (seen in the photos above) or run white yarn around the outer stitches of the frill (check out photos on the designer’s blog).
Required Set of Supplies for Dinosaur Amigurumi
A worsted-weight yarn paired with a 4 mm crochet hook will give you a nice stitch definition and super soft feel. The pattern recommends using Lily (Spinrite) Sugar’n Cream Solids, but any other medium-weight yarn will be great too.
You should also prepare 6 mm safety eyes and some polyester fiberfill to stuff your pieces. If you don’t have polfill or don’t want to buy it, use yarn scraps from your stash.
