It’s a dreary day today. Wouldn’t it be nice to bring a touch of floral joy to alleviate the greyness outside? Sure it would. Here are two beautiful floral crochet projects to dispel the gloom.

Flora Afghan Free Crochet Pattern

The Flora afghan is a square-based pattern with large central rosettes that have highly developed surfaces and a 3D texture. The pattern uses numerous flower squares to give the impression of a garden with rows of different flowers. It’s a beautiful example of how to use a patterned layout of several different squares to make it appear like a huge floral variety.  A link to the free patterns is under the photos.

Peace Lily Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

The Peace Lily blanket makes use of a single repeating motif set into a less densely stitched background with some voids defining the edge around the central flower. This is also a great floral project to liven up the day. A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.

I love this. Tried it myself but I am not skilled enough. I think I need more practice.
