Here is a cost effective baby blanket you can whip up in no time flat. It uses a single skein of yarn and is made using a repeating pattern of two rows, which is easy to memorize and follow with your fingers, especially in a monochrome blanket. At the same time, for a more challenging project, you can play around with colors, for example by doing horizontal or diagonal color arrangements, a border of a different color or using multicolored yarns. A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.
